Hello All,

I have a problem in solve a simple curve problem. Here is the problem..

**Two tangents intersect at a chainage of 1000 m, the deflection angle being 36°.The length of the long chord is 133.52 m and the chainage of T2 is 2065.61m. Find the Chainage of T1 and Radius of curve.**

Now the point is that when I try to find T1 by this formula:

T1 = Total Chainage - Tangent Length.

Tangent Length found to be 70.2m and Radius = 216.04m , therefore

T1 = 1000 - 70.2 = 929.8m

But But when I try to verify my result using length of curve formula

length of curve = 135.47

So T1 = T2 - length of curve

T1 = 2065.61 - 135.4 = 1929.08 So the difference is about 1000m which is the total chainage. Some one told me that it has to do with dependency. Please anyone help me in solving this problem. May be my Radius is not correct. Some one please help me. Thank you in advance..

Are there any tutorials available for creating a four road intersection using the intersection tool in Civil 3D? Civil 3D intersection tool helps in creating a three road intersection, but it doesn't create curb return profiles for a four intersection. The curb return profiles are not automatically created with the intersection tool thereby giving errors.

Hello everybody, i'm an infrastructure engineer working for about 4 years now. I'm going to study about road structures now on. So please give me your advice witch software would be the best right now, about design a calculation for walls, cantilevers, etc. Consider it to be user friendly and almost BIM too. Thanks in advance!

Hi every one, ln steel structures, is it possible to make elastic analysis, got elastic forces and design by plastic method ? I mean use elastic forces multiplyied by load factors and cmplete design with AISC LFRD equatinos! Elastic analysis instead of plastic analysis for LFRD. Thanks in advance

Though the concepts of BIM or Model-Based Design are the same, it’s true that Building Information Modelling (BIM) has its roots in architecture and there is an assumption that the benefits are applicable to architects and only relevant to building design and construction. Assuming that BIM is the future, then would the benefits provided by BIM technology be utilized for infrastructure design pojects using Civil 3D, 12d Model and Bentley InRoads?

Hello Friends, I have recently purchased a plot and intending to start the house construction shortly The total 8 cents plot is equally shared by my friend. Now I seek your valuable suggestions on which portion of the plot would be the ideal one to choose. My friend's plot would be vacant and he would sell the empty plot after a period Below is the link to view the sketch of the plot in discussion Please do spare some time and share your comments

Is there any standard value of "pore water saturation" for different grade concrete (M20. M25, M30, M40 etc.)? Or is there any experimental data available of "Pore water saturation of concrete"?

Hi All,

Very recently we did RCC slab for my home using READY MIX concrete (M-30 Grade)

Unfortunately we observed plastic shrinkage cracks immediately after completion of the slab casting (not the complete slab, only first half of the slab).

The Quality In charge of READY MIX concrete supplier told that "the cracks are because of too temperature"

From the last couple of days. the cracks leading to water leaks at five/six places.

Could you please tell me what is the REMEDY for stopping plastic shrinkage cracks?

Could you please tell me how plastic shrinkage cracks impacts the DURABILILITY and STRENGTH of RCC slab?

What is best remedy for stopping water leaks ?

Is there a possibility for hitting new cracks in the future?

Thanks, Masthan
